NFL Releases 2009 Schedule
The NFL just released the 2009 regular season schedule. Clark Judge calls in to go over the schedule with Jason Horowitz .
Draft Prospect: DT- Peria Jerry
The Rebels' remarkable turnaround on defense in 2008 was thanks largely to the stellar performance of Jerry. He had one of the most dominating seasons for an Ole Miss defender since the departure of All-American linebacker, Patrick Willis.
Draft Prospect: QB- Rudy Carpenter
The best word to describe Carpenter is "gutty." He finished his career with 43 consecutive starts, which helped him become one of the most productive quarterbacks in Pac-10 history with 10,491 passing yards and 81 career touchdowns.
Draft Prospect:CB:Alphonso Smith
A natural playmaker, Smith left Wake Forest as the ACC's career leader with 21 interceptions.
Draft Prospect: QB- Willie Tuitama
Scouts were satisfied with the way he threw the ball during his pro day, although his 5.0 40 and marginal results in other tests did not separate him from the pack.
Draft Prospect: QB- Chase Holbrook
Holbrook is not considered a top-tier talent because of his average arm strength, sloppy footwork and poor mobility, but his size, raw talent and production might get him a shot in a very weak quarterback class.
Draft Prospect: QB- John Parker Wilson
After seeing minimal action as a true freshman, he went on to start the next three seasons, rewriting numerous school records. He finished his career with a stellar performance in the Senior Bowl, earning Offensive Player of the Game honors
Draft Prospect: QB- David Johnson
Johnson patiently waited three years behind current Jacksonville Jaguar Paul Smith, and after just one season as a starter he is getting similar grades to Smith from NFL scouts
Draft Prospect: QB- Jason Boltus
Larry Wanke from John Carroll University was the last Division III quarterback drafted in the NFL, but Boltus, an AP Little All-American pick, has the size and production to be on the NFL draft radar.
Draft Prospect: QB- Chase Daniel
No one can argue with his production, but Daniel's lack of height, arm-strength and ability to rally down the stretch could result in him falling completely out of the draft.
Draft Prospect: QB- Brian Hoyer
In a weak quarterback class, Hoyer's solid week of practice at the East-West Shrine Game could result in a middle-round selection.
Draft Prospect: QB- Cullen Harper
Harper has enough accuracy in the short to intermediate range to warrant development in a West Coast Offense, but his lack of upside and struggles as a senior may result in his falling out of the draft entirely.
Draft Prospect: QB- Mike Reilly
The 2008 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year wooed scouts to CWU with his size, athleticism and outstanding production.
Draft Prospect: QB- Stephen McGee
Few quarterbacks will ever be drafted after starting only three games their senior year, but McGee has the tools worthy of consideration.
Draft Prospect: QB- Todd Boeckman
Boeckman lost his starting job after three games last season to freshman Terrelle Pryor but some view him as a sleeper in this year's not-so-touted class of quarterbacks.
Draft Prospect: QB- Nathan Brown
The fifth-year senior emerged into the national spotlight as a senior. He would earn All-American first-team honors and capped his stellar career by becoming the first Central Arkansas athlete to play in the prestigious Senior Bowl.
Draft Prospect: QB- Curtis Painter
Blessed with first-round caliber arm strength, Painter was considered a top 100 prospect coming off an honorable mention All-Big Ten junior season, but like other senior quarterbacks in this draft, he struggled with consistency in 2008.
Draft Prospect: QB- Tom Brandstater
Regards as the premier quarterback in the Western Athletic Conference; Brandstater possesses the range and arm strength that National Football League teams look for in a pro style quarterback.
Draft Prospect: QB- Hunter Cantwell
Most experts will agree that Cantwell has the arm to make all of the NFL throws. However, his lacking of mobility and elongated delivery caused him to struggle getting into a rhythm in 2008.
Draft Prospect: QB- Graham Harrell
He is the proud owner of the NCAA record for the most touchdown passes (134) in major college annals. He would also place second all-time with 15,793 yards passing and 15,611 yards in total offense.
Draft Prospect: QB- Rhett Bomar
After a troubling 2006 offseason that saw Bomar dismissed from the University of Oklahoma, he would go on to become Sam Houston State's all-time passer, amassing 5,564 yards in 19 games.
Draft Prospect: QB- Josh Freeman
There are teams that consider Freeman the finest all-around athlete available at the position. The junior has been a model of consistency and an outstanding leader who possesses a strong, accurate arm to go along with his unbelievable frame.
Draft Prospect: TE- Cornelius Ingram
Lost to a torn ACL in August, Ingram presents an intriguing option for teams willing to gamble a mid-round pick on an athletic receiving specialist in the mode of Dallas Clark or Vernon Davis.
Draft Prospect: TE- Brandon Pettigrew
Regarded by many as the most complete tight end in the 2009 NFL Draft, Pettigrew has not only proven to be a clutch short-area receiver, but an outstanding blocker.
Draft Prospect: TE- Travis Beckum
Beckum is a pass-catching specialist built more like an overgrown receiver than a traditional NFL tight end.
Draft Prospect: TE- Chase Coffman
Coffman emerged as the elite pass-catching tight end in the college ranks during his senior year, shattering the school career record with 30 touchdown catches, the sixth-best total in Big 12 Conference history.
Draft Prospect: TE- Shawn Nelson
A four-year starter and three-time Conference USA honoree, Nelson is one of the more accomplished of a strong senior class of tight ends - and to scouts' attention has the athletic upside to improve.
Draft Prospect: TE- Darius Hill
He measured 6-foot-7 and weighed 246 pounds, had a 31-inch vertical leap, and ran two 40-yard dashes in 4.75 and 4.74 seconds indoors on a hard surface at a private workout at Ball State.
Draft Prospect: K- Jose Martinez
Kicking expert Chris Sailer named Martinez a top kicking prospect when he came out of Bakersfield Junior College and Martinez lived up to that billing by earning first-team All-Conference USA honors the past two seasons.
Draft Prospect: P- Thomas Morstead
Morstead is a three-year starter, and twice all-Conference USA, as both the Mustangs' kicker and punter.
Draft Prospect: K- Graham Gano
He moved up NFL draft boards with a surprising first season as the Seminoles' kicker in 2008. Gano won the Lou Groza Award and garnered first-team all-ACC honors after making 24-of-26 field goal attempts.
Draft Prospect: K- Sam Swank
If he can prove he's over the groin injury, Swank's high trajectory and leg drive should make him one of the more highly regarded placekickers of the 2009 draft.
Draft Prospect: K- Louie Sakoda
A former walk-on, Sakoda earned All-American honors for the second straight year in 2008. Sakoda is only the second player to be named as a Ray Guy and Lou Groza Award finalist.
Draft Prospect: TE- Brandon Ledbetter
Ledbetter's height, length and speed made him a tough match-up for college linebackers and safeties over the past three years.
Draft Prospect: TE- Dan Gronkowski
Gronkowksi's size, blocking skills and ability to move the chains could make him a solid reserve tight end in the NFL.
Draft Prospect: TE- Ryan Purvis
A sure-handed receiver in the middle, Purvis developed into QB Matt Ryan's security blanket in 2007, catching 54 passes for 553 yards and four touchdowns despite only starting seven games.
Draft Prospect: TE- Kory Sperry
A three-time Mountain West Conference honoree, Sperry presents teams with an intriguing blend of size, straight-line speed and soft hands.
Draft Prospect: TE- Andrew Davie
Andrew Davie can also deep snap. Davie will likely be a late draft pick, but the fact that he was a deep snapper in high school and displayed those skills at the end of the workout will help him.
Draft Prospect: TE- Cameron Morrah
A heavily recruited high school defensive end who quickly made the move to offense, Morrah capitalized on an impressive junior season to declare early for the NFL Draft.
Draft Prospect: TE- Bear Pascoe
McKenna "Bear" Pascoe is a throwback tight end with good receiving skills to move the chains as well as the size and strength to contribute as a run blocker.
Draft Prospect: TE- Davon Drew
Drew took advantage of ECU's climb to national prominence early in the season to improve his draft stock. The honorable mention All-Conference USA pick is an ideal H-back candidate because of his size and receiving skills.
